Goya
The story of Goya: a passion for windsurfing and more
The Goya brand was founded in 1994 by an international team consisting of four partners from different parts of the world. The founder, Antonio Goya, started out with the desire to develop better windsurfing boards for himself. But what began as a small, personal endeavor quickly grew into a reputable company. That same year, seven of the top ten World Cup riders were enjoying success on their boards. This is how the brand became known – and the first Quatro board was born.
In 2004, the founders decided to establish the Goya Windsurfing brand, a fully integrated windsurfing brand with a wide range of boards – from World Cup Wave to Freeride and entry-level boards. They focused on innovation and perfection. The boards were constantly being developed, and the goal was always to create products that meet the highest standards. Marcilio Browne, one of the best windsurfers in the world, still rides the same models that customers use today.
Technological achievements and innovations
Goya stands for high-quality technology and innovation. The company has a lot to offer in the field of windsurfing, some of which have shaped the industry:
- CNC Shape Technology: precise, computer-aided board shapes that ensure maximum performance and efficiency.
- Vacuum Sandwich Technology: This technique improves the strength of the boards without adding weight, thus ensuring better performance and durability.
- Quad Fin Design: An innovative fin design that gives the boards more control and stability, especially in rough conditions.
The journey continues
In 2014, KT Surfing was founded, another brand under the umbrella of Forward Maui, which unites all brands. Quatro, Goya and KT now represent different orientations in the surfing sector. These brands offer a variety of products, each designed by surfers for surfers. And the reason for this success is simple: passion. Goya is more than just a brand – it is a culture shaped by a love of surfing.
“We want people to experience what we feel when we surf,” says the Goya team, and this commitment is evident in every product they make.
Goya Windsurfing: Visions for the future and a commitment to sustainability
Goya Windsurfing not only looks back on a successful past, but also has clear plans for the future, which focus on innovation and sustainability. With over 25 years of experience in developing windsurfing boards and sails, the company continuously strives to improve the performance and durability of its products. One significant step in this direction is the use of proprietary bio-resins, which reduce the environmental footprint of the products without compromising on performance.
In addition, Goya Windsurfing has further developed vacuum lamination technology to increase the strength and durability of the boards while reducing weight. This innovation makes it possible to produce boards that are both robust and lightweight, significantly improving performance on the water.
Another forward-thinking project is the development of foil boards designed specifically for the foil windsurfing discipline. These boards offer a compact and user-friendly solution for windsurfers looking to learn how to foil or improve their skills. The use of carbon in the construction ensures high rigidity and responsiveness, while various size options meet the different needs of riders.
Goya Windsurfing remains true to its philosophy of developing products that both maximize on-water performance and minimize environmental impact. By continuously integrating new technologies and materials, the company sets the standard in the windsurfing industry and demonstrates a strong commitment to a sustainable future.
