Reedin
The birth of Reedin: a story of two legends
When two greats of kitesurfing come together, the result is bound to be amazing – and that's exactly what happened with Reedin. In 2020, Kevin Langeree (the kitesurfing world champion with the greatest bounce) and Damien Girardin (the kitesurfing design guru who developed the Pivot Kite for Naish) founded the kitesurfing brand that is now making the hearts of kitesurfers worldwide beat faster.
Langeree, a Dutch kitesurfing star, had already won several world championship titles in freestyle and proven himself as a three-time King of the Air in his career. His goal? To fly higher, jump further and land in style. But he knew that the right kite was the key to success. This is where Damien comes in – the man behind many innovative kite designs, such as the well-known Pivot Kite from Naish. Together they wanted to build their own brand based on innovation, performance and passion. And so Reedin Kiteboarding was born.
Reedin's goal: higher, faster, further!
Reedin was founded with a clear goal: to redefine kitesurfing. Kevin and Damien didn't just want to create kites that looked good – they wanted to focus on performance, innovation and customer satisfaction. Their philosophy: “It's time to go beyond anything that has been done before!”
Reedin's innovations: Go big or go home.
From the very beginning, Reedin has not only impressed with stunning designs, but also with technological innovations.
- The Super Model HTF – the kite that can do everything:
- The Super Model from Reedin is the all-rounder among kites and has proven to be particularly versatile. In 2023, the Super Model got a refreshed version: the Super Model HTF (Hybrid Torsion Frame). The HTF uses different types of Dacron for the leading edge and struts, which takes the kite's stability and performance to a new level.
- The Hyper Model Aluula – lighter than the wind:
- With the Hyper Model (2023), Reedin launched an Aluula kite that is 25% lighter than the Super Model HTF. The unique Aluula material makes the kite stiffer, stronger and it feels incredibly stable even in the gustiest conditions. The Hyper Model is known for its excellent low-end performance and enables double loops, higher jumps and endless hangtime.
- Brainchild Hypermodel – the next step in kite development:
- In 2025, a special feature in the kite business awaits us. Brainchild Ralf Grösel designed the Hypermodel. Thus, Reedin moves away from Aluula
Reedin is more than just a brand – it's a movement
Reedin has managed to establish itself as an innovative kitesurfing brand that not only offers high-performance kites and kiteboards, but also helps shape the future of kitesurfing. With Kevin Langeree as founder and his team spirit with Damien Girardin, Reedin has taken kitesurfing to the next level. In 2024, the dream team was joined by another creative mind: Ralf Grössel, a visionary and kitesurfing enthusiast known for his collaboration with the Brainchild brand and his experience in kite technology. This strategic partnership has created a unique team.
Kevin and Damien's plans for the future and their vision
In order to optimize the light wind sector in the kite area, the Reedin family is growing with the addition of another model. The Whispermodel will be launched in 2025 and will serve as a supplement in the low end. In addition, further developments are being made in both the kite and wingfoil areas.
