What do we mean by “high-quality construction” when it comes to the Lion?

Decades of sailing experience in Maui have shaped the way we build sails. The Lion is designed to withstand strong winds, salt, and UV radiation. There are no brittle monofilaments and nothing disposable. Instead, the Lion is made of lightweight scrim laminates, Dyneema, and Technora-reinforced panels, the same materials we trust on the waves. RBS epoxy battens—the most robust on the market—complete the structure.

Every seam is taped, reinforced, and then stitched to ensure a long life. Our factory is owned and operated by Ezzy for one reason: we couldn't find anyone else who could consistently meet our standards.

Before a Lion leaves the loft, it is trimmed and adjusted by hand. Every panel and batten is checked, and every sail is inspected at full rigging—ready for the water, right out of the box.

How does calibrated trimming save time?

Trim shouldn't feel like a puzzle. The Lion's downhaul guide shows exactly where to adjust the tension—just line up the mark on the mast. No searching for the right setting, no trial and error. Clew indicators on the sail make it easy to adjust the boom length and backstay. Since every Lion is trimmed and calibrated at the factory, your first setup is already 90% complete.
