Mayhem Quad fin set with neutral all-round performance for surfboards
Sometimes looking back can help us move forward. In 2008 and 2009, while building boards and filming for 5.5 REDUX, we started designing Fish boards and other alternative boards around a twin+2 setup. Basically a quad, but with two fins in the front and longboard sidebites as rear quads. Cory Lopez became famous with this setup when he rode one of the first documented strike missions ever in Skeleton Bay. He was also featured on the cover of SURFER Magazine, doing an air in Indo where the fin setup was clearly visible.
Over the last year, I have revisited this concept and have personally had a lot of fun working with Futures to test and develop it. With the new medium sized Evil Twin template up front and two 80/20 foiled downsized rear quads, we felt we had hit the nail on the head. After playing with various cant, flexes and optics, we are proud to introduce the all NEW EVIL TWIN+2... or should we say EVIL QUAD.
